HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY!

When I first started using essential oils, I was about 15 years old. I had read in some magazine about how there was this stuff called essential oils, and further more they could affect the human body. They could affect the mind, the body, and the spirit. I remember being awkward and unsure of myself, how I just knew I needed some edge to get the boys to notice me. This magazine talked about Patchouli Essential Oil and how it was a natural aphrodisiac.

Connect the dots. I was fifteen. Sex-appeal=Confidence. Or at least that was my warped perception of the world at the time. So I bet you can guess what I did. I hunted down this mysterious love potion that would make whoever it was that I was crushing on at the time notice me.

Now don’t get me wrong, wearing patchouli oil didn’t bring crowds of the opposite sex knocking down my door, nor did it give me any sort of super powers, but what it did do was gave me a little more confidence.   Something else I have always noticed while wearing it is that people are more relaxed and receptive around me.   It’s calming, it’s warm, it’s comforting, it helps subconsciously make people more at ease when they are around me.

To this day I still will wear patchouli on a pretty regular basis.   I have learned more about the science behind the oils, that it is more than witch-craft or mysticism.   That these oils really do work.   They work on a physical, mental, and spiritual level.
